MURDER
AT WORLDCON: Synopsis
Two
elderly college professors, Paula Evans and Stella Francis,
arrive at WorldCon, a Science Fiction and Fantasy convention
being held in San Francisco. Karole Kinkaid, a previous student
of theirs, is speaking about her book series at the convention.
Two college co-eds and fans of Karole work for a caterer at
the Con, serving people they admire as well as some they could
live without. Peter Branson, a young TV star becomes enamored
of Heather at one of the events. Harry Jackson, a literary agent
notorious for seducing young aspiring writers leaves with a
young woman. Heather and Toni run to Karole with the story and
when she goes upstairs the girl is unconscious and Harry is
dead, his mouth and throat stuffed with condoms.
Harry's body is discovered by Stella and Paula, but it is Karole
who is accused of the murder, due to her long-standing feud
with Jackson. The professors team up with the co-eds, and assisted
by a journalist and a police detective, they investigate the
murder. The outcome is a shocking one, the murderer a surprising
discovery, who manages to create a dramatic scene at the Con
ball before she is cornered.
Harry Jackson was murdered because he was indiscriminately spreading
AIDS throughout the fantasy community -- his murderer has been
infected as was one of her dear friends. |
